Mini Review for Hell's Kitchen (but mostly just a comment about how I would love to shoot Gordon Ramsay with a tranquilizer gun)

Okay, how has Gordon Ramsay not suffered a massive stroke or heart attack? I watched the last 20 minutes of Hell's Kitchen tonight and was terrified by this man. He may look like the slow-witted but kindly cook at a small town Denny's, but he is perhaps the most high strung and abusive person I have ever seen in my life. HE SHOUTED THE ENTIRE TIME. Not an "I'm a loud talker" shout but more of an "you are too stupid to live and I'd love to stab you through the heart 437 times" scream. I flinched everytime he made a sudden move because I thought he was going to hit someone or place their hand on a burner.

Also, if anyone were to ever play a game based upon drinking every time he says fuck (or any variation thereof), they would be dead of alcohol poisoning before the show is over. He's worse than the whole Osborne family put together. Half of the words spoken on this show are bleeped out.

If you've ever watched Hell's Kitchen, speak up. What do you think?

i like rage. uncontrolled rage.

i also like it when unfortunate-looking people tell other unfortunate-looking people what losers they are.

or maybe he just reminds me of nellie from little house on the prairie.

"Rage" is the perfect one-word description for this man.

I can see the Nellie. He's nasty like her too.

I think he's hot. In his very own nasty, hot way.

PS: I met him once at a party when I was 8 months pregnant. He was the most chilled out guy around. He was making happy (low voiced) conversation, and was a total gentleman. What you saw was just his money making TV personality there in full swing rousing the crowds.

We watch this show weekly and I am always aghast at what comes flying out his mouth! There are some thick skinned people on that show who can take his ranting.

I'm not a huge fan of Hell's Kitchen, mostly because chefs are generally egotistical jerkwads and the ones on HK don't seem to even be good enough to warrant their asshattery. Gordon Ramsey is the bomb, though.

His show Kitchen Nightmare is AWESOME. He goes into floundering restaurants, tells them what to do to get back on their feet, helps them implement changes and then comes back in a couple months to see if they stuck with it. The restaurants that listen to him survive and thrive, the one's that don't usually end up closing. The BBC version is way better, but the US version is pretty awesome too.

I can't handle Hell's Kitchen (I had a boss that acted like that--complete with plate throwing), but I do watch Kitchen Nightmare. He is a little more subdued on KN.

oh, i watch this, i watch this!

i think its great. its the most unattractive cast on tv, to date.

i love it when they have to blind taste test foods.

Agree with Jen. You NEED to start watching Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. I've only seen a few episodes and am oh so hooked on his accented ways of dropping the f* bomb every few sentences.

I watch it, but to me its like a poor man's top chef. and gordon ramsey is no anthony bourdain, i love when he guest judges on TC.
Jamie is right too, the contestants on HK are terrible, but equally entertaining...

My 13-year old nephew was staying with me in Wales when Kitchen Nightmares came on. Every other word out of GR's mouth was fuckinell fuckinell fuckinell. And this show is on regular terrestrial TV at about 8:30. 8:00 is the "watershed" hour and after that, anything goes. Take a gander at Little Britain on youtube and you'll keel over laughing at what's on TV there!

I'm with Karey M, i love watching people go off, it gives me satisfaction, and as long as my husband doesn't do it in traffic, and it isn't happening to me, i can watch it on TV all day long.

I agree with the person who said that this is the most unattractive cast on tv. Oh wait: is Flava of Love still on?

Regardless, this is my first stop at your blog (thank IKKH) and I am hooked after two posts. Thanks!
